The Donkey Sanctuary is opening a pop up campsite at its site in Leeds for the start of the Tour de France this summer.
The sanctuary is close to the top vantage points of the “grand depart” stage from Leeds to Harrogate on 5 July.
“We can’t wait to open our temporary campsite for what’s going to be an amazing weekend. We’re so excited to be so close to the Tour site and can’t wait to welcome as many cycle fans, families and animals to camp with us and enjoy the spectacle,” said Cathryn Williams, the centre manager.
“By staying here you’ll be helping us provide free riding therapy to children with additional needs. So we really hope campers will choose us to help support our work and to enjoy this brilliant weekend of cycling at the same time.”
The site will offer breakfasts and snacks as well as a barbecue and licensed bar at night. 2 nights camping for 4 people with 1 one car costs £100.
