Equestrian trade fair BETA International has named World Horse Welfare as its charity for 2013.
The fair — which will be held at Birmingham’s NEC (17 -19 February 2013) — aims to raise the profile of the charity through a number of initiatives.
World Horse Welfare will be given a complimentary trade stand worth £1,000, a representative from the charity will be invited to be one of the show’s Best Stand Award judges and collection boxes will be located throughout the fair.
“We are delighted to be nominated as the official charity for BETA International 2013,” said the charity’s John Blake.
“We are looking forward to working alongside the organising team of this highly successful trade exhibition as we seek to promote our work helping thousands of horses in the UK and overseas.”
Claire Thomas from BETA International added: “World Horse Welfare is highly regarded by all members of the equestrian industry.”
“Its campaign to halt long-distance transportation of horses for slaughter in Europe and its reputation in the field of equine rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing are issues close to everyone’s heart and I am extremely pleased to welcome it to the show.”
