Funeral of countryside campaigner and MFH David Latham


  • Former joint master of the Four Burrow Hunt and Tetcott Hunt and countryside campaigner David Latham has drowned while on a round-the-world trip with his wife.

    Mr Latham, aged 71, who lived in Cornwall, was a former regional chairman of the Countryside Alliance in the South East.

    He and wife Jo were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary with the trip when he got into trouble while swimming in the Arabian Sea off Goa.

    Mr Latham was instrumental in organising the 1997 march from Penzance to London as part of protests against the hunting ban

    His funeral will take place on Thursday (31 January) at 11am at Philleigh Church near Truro.
