Lisa and Fred Ford have established a new sports horse breeding centre at Woodlands Barn in Surrey, which is home to stallions, Billy Be Cool and Primo Pageant.
Lisa explains: “Our philosophy is simple &ndash we want to breed beautiful, talented horses that bring joy to their owners. After all, most people in this country own and ride horses for enjoyment so it is our aim to breed, produce, train and sell horses that are a pleasure to keep.”
Five-year-old Billy Be Cool is jointly owned with Jane and Jonathan Clarke and won the Young Event Horse at Burghley with Pippa Funnell in 2008.
Primo Pageant is a new addition to the stud this year and has sired advanced event horses, Grade A show jumpers, and a HOYS supreme hunter champion. The Fords believe it is important to retain thoroughbred bloodlines when breeding sports horses.
They also have a range of horses available for sale.
