David Oldrey, former president of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association, is this years recipient of the Goodwood Racecourse Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr Oldrey is a successful owner-breeder of horses such as leading national hunt sire Oats. He has held a variety of positions in racing, including the Jockey Clubs deputy senior steward, chairman of the starting price executive, chairman of the British Horseracing Board race planning committee, governor of the Equine Fertility Unit, and chairman of the Equine Genome Project.
He is also a racing history and sporting art consultant for Christies, and last winter published The Jockey Club Rooms: A Catalogue and History of the Collection.
