Another foal by dressage star Totilas was safely delivered on Sunday night.
And the May Day colt is all the more special as a 60-day scan had indicated Louise Davies’ mare Reina Negra was carrying a filly.
“All this time we thought it would be a filly and we had a lovely surprise,” said Louise, of Platinum Sports Horse Stud.
“Last night [1 May] at 10pm Reina had a beautiful jet black colt with a white crescent and a snippet on his nose with one white sock. I believe this is the first foal with any white on his face like his dad.”
Louise has given him the stable name of William and says he is “big and strong and stunning, perfectly put together and beautifully uphill”.
The foal was delivered at Kentsford Farm Stud in Romsey, Hampshire.
