What did Zara Phillips make of your picnic at Burghley Horse Trials? [VIDEO]

  • Forget cheese and pickle sandwiches and a bag of crisps for lunch. Spectators that entered the Land Rover Tailgate Picnic Competition took al fresco dining to another level at last weekend’s Burghley Horse Trials (4-7 September 2014).

Zara Phillips — just back from clinching the eventing team silver medal at the World Equestrian Games — and TV presenter Matt Baker were in charge of the judging duties for the third running of this competiton, and after some tough decisions Lucy Sharpley, Harry Horrell and friends were named the winners.

Having narrowly missed out on the title last year, the Burghley regulars pulled out all the stops and their well-appointed bar and three course lunch were enough to sway Zara and Matt. Next stop MasterChef?
