When H&H visited New Zealand’s four-star eventer Jonelle Price — currently ranked the number one female event rider in the world — at home in Wiltshire, we grabbed her for a few minutes to quiz her about all the pressing issues of the day: her favourite food, dream holidays and the film she’s embarassed to have seen…
Who were your horsey heroes growing up?
My horsey heroes as a kid would be the New Zealand dream team — Blyth Tait, Mark Todd, Vaughn Jeffries and Andrew Nicholson.

What was the last film you went to see?
The last film I went to see — I’m not sure if I should admit to it — was Fifty Shades of Grey. [My husband] Tim wouldn’t come with me so a bunch of us went out for a girls’ night.
What’s your dream holiday destination?
My dream holiday is Mango Bay on a little island off the South coast of Vietnam.
What music are you listening to?
I am listening to a bit of a random mix. We’ve been playing a bit of Spotify so I go on random searches and see what takes my fancy.
Mucking out or tack cleaning?
I would definitely prefer mucking out to cleaning tack. I like the physical aspect — it’s a bit more productive.
Tea or a stiff drink?
I don’t drink tea so I would definitely go for a stiff drink.
If it wasn’t eventing?
If I didn’t do my discipline, I think I would go showjumping. The photos you see of some of the locations on the GCT look pretty incredible.
