What the organisers say
The dressage is on flat grass with the warm-up on a slight slope on grass next to the arenas. The showjumping is in a 75x50m all-weather arena.
The cross-country tracks are being refreshed for 2015,under the guidance of our new course-designer, Douglas Weymouth. All tracks are on permanent pasture and the courses run over slightly undulating terrain. We will agri-vate if necessary. Tracks incorporate a mix of portable and permanent fences and a water complex.
All courses are designed to educate the novice horse and rider and are suitable for first-timers, with alternatives where necessary.
What the riders say
Dressage & showjumping — “The dressage area I found quite hard to warm up in, as it was on a slope with few flat areas to practise more intricate moves.” “The arenas themselves were very well set out and efficient.” “The showjumping is held on a surface.” “The warm-up was brilliant — you were able to practise inside before moving into the outside practice arena for final preparations.” “The course was nice and flowing, but had more turns and fillers than usual.”
Cross-country — “The warm-up area was nice and flat and just 50 yards from the wagon park.” “The course was brilliant with brightly coloured fences, from submarines to daisies.” “This took place over several fields which was great as it meant you could enjoy a series of gallops.” “The course is suitable for first-timers, but it does have a few offset stride combinations and turns.” “The ground was brilliant with take-offs and landings all maintained very well.”
