How to get there
Postcode SY22 6LG. Lower House Farm is six miles from Oswestry and 13 from Shrewsbury on the B4398 between Llanymynech and Maesbrook. Vehicles over 7.5t should approach from the A5 end of the B4398 to avoid a weight-restricted bridge on the B4398 just south of the village centre.
What the organisers say
Llanymynech is uniquely situated on the Welsh/English border, meaning you compete in two countries at the same event.
The course runs mainly over old turf that is relatively flat with no steep hills, giving an inviting, straightforward and attractively designed and presented track which is up to height at all levels.
For 2015 we are introducing a further water complex and two bank areas, with educational use of fences and elements in all areas. Ground preparation, including landing and take-offs, will be undertaken.
The dressage benefits from being situated in a flat, well-spaced area with a large warm-up.
The showjumping grass arena is central to the event, with a spacious warm-up area. It is flanked on two sides by tradestands, giving plenty of opportunity for spectators to watch and shop.
Excellent parking gives good access to all areas.
We look forward to welcoming you to our events in 2015.
What the riders say
Dressage & showjumping — “There is plenty of warm-up space and the dressage tests are held on very flat, tidy arenas.” “There is a big warm-up and ring for the showjumping.”
Cross-country — “A flat, galloping track.” “Most of the combinations have longer routes so could be OK for first-timers.” “Lots of different questions, ditches, turning, water and skinnies.”
