    How to get there

Postcode EH22 2NA. From the Edinburgh city bypass Sherriffhall roundabout follow the A68 (Jedburgh) to the centre of Dalkeith. Then follow signs for the horse trials.

    What the organisers say

Dalkeith is set in the beautiful Buccleuch estate five miles from Edinburgh city centre and is easily accessible for riders and spectators alike.

The dressage is set in front of the Mansion House, which provides a spectacular and unusual backdrop. The showjumping and main hub for the event is on adjacent ground, served by good hard tracks with ample parking for all.

Cross-country is a 5min walk and we now have new ground which provides full distance flowing tracks.

Our new course-designer, David Evans, brings new ideas and has already designed the new water complex, which is completed and ready for 2015. Permanent all-weather tracks have also already been finished to link the new ground.

Spectators will be able to see large parts of the cross-country from various vantage points. We look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an exciting event.

    What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “The dressage and showjumping are held in good, flat arenas with plenty of warm-up.”

Cross-country — “Brilliant, solid jumps, but the course was only held in one field [see organisers’ comments].” “It’s also quite flat with no hills.” “I’d hope to see the cross-country held over a larger area next year, but a good first attempt.”
