Zara Phillips is best Brit in Aachen


  • World team gold medallists Frank Ostholt (pictured) and Air Jordan 2 led Germany’s eventers to a 19.4pen victory over Britain at the CHIO in Aachen and secured the individual €32,000 first prize.

    Sweden’s Linda Algotsson on Stand By Me, members of the third-placed team, finished just 1pen behind.

    Nicolas Touzaint finished third on Hildago De L’Ile for France.

    Zara Phillips was the best of the British riders with an excellent fifth place on Toytown. Sharon Hunt and Tankers Town were 11th. Francis Whittington finished 15th on Sir Percival lll and was one of only three riders to finish on his dressage score. Emily Baldwin was 18th on Drivetime.
