Zara Phillips: her horses and WEG

  • Zara Phillips talks openly about her horses and her hopes for next month’s World Equestrian Games in the August issue of Eventing magazine, on sale now.

Eventing editor Julie Harding caught up with Zara at a recent squad training session at Waresley Park Stud, where they discussed Zara’s top horse Toytown, the challenges facing her in Aachen and her hopes for the future.

The interview is just one part of Eventing’s WEG preview, which includes features on the riders, the cross-country course and finds out who reigning World Champion Jean Teulere believes will win.

Alongside reports from the latest events around the county, and Eventing’s other popular regulars like Stabletalk and Polly Jackson’s diary, the magazine’s alternative horse care special focuses on the natural healing powers of aromatherapy, acupuncture and garlic.

On the training front Nick Turner helps pre-novice rider Georgina Hale with her show jumping, while readers have the chance to win a lesson with Polly Stockton.
