William Fox-Pitt notched his fifth and sixth three-day wins of the season, at Blair International.
In the CCI***, he led from start to finish on Macchiato to finish with two fences to spare over Lucy Wiegersma on Woodfalls Pure Gold, despite lowering one rail in a tricky show jumping competition.
Both Lucy and third-placed Andrew Nicholson (Ginger May Killinghurst) rapped two fences each, but maintained their cross-country placings.
William endured one sticky moment across-country when Macchiato banked a table, but sat tight to complete without incurring any jumping or time-penalties.
In the CCI** William steered Bee Animas to a narrow victory over Andrew Nicholson. Andrew finished second and third, on Epic and Nereo, after an exciting show jumping finale, where the top four were split by less than a fence.
This leading triplet remained at the head of affairs from the off, all posting clean sheets. Oliver Townend followed up his recent third at Thirlestane CCI** on new ride Opposition Alex, finishing fourth here on his dressage score.
