Tweseldown cancelled

  • Tweseldown’s first affiliated horse trials of the year has been cancelled due to wet weather. Organisers walked round the course earlier today and decided the ground was too wet for the competition to run.

On Tuesday Tweseldown’s organisers decided to cancel all classes scheduled to run on Thursday and Friday, but held off making any decision about Saturday and Sunday’s schedule. The soil at the Hampshire course is renowned for draining well and going is usually very good.

But after another look at the course this morning officials decided it to cancel the whole event. “There has been quite a lot of rain in that area,” said a spokesperson for British Eventing. “It is too wet – even for Tweseldown.”
