The Royal Bath and West’s first affiliated event of the season (10-11 March) has become the latest victim of the recent wet weather.
The organisers of the Somerset-based event have been forced to cancel due to waterlogged ground. Although it is currently sunny at the showground, Shepton Mallett, the ground is not drying out fast enough.
“There is standing water on the cross-country course and dressage arenas. It is just not safe and more rain is forecast,” said event organiser Susan Clayton.
The Royal Bath and West is the third event of the 2007 season to be cancelled due to the recent wet weather.
