Paul Tapner was born in 1975 and is originally from Sydney, where he began riding at the age of seven at Samuri Park Riding School.
He studied science in agriculture at university before moving to Britain in 1999, initially to ride for Cirencester-based Angela Scott.
Paul quickly made his mark with a win at Bramham 2000 on Highpoint.
In 2009 Paul finally broke into the top ten British Eventing (BE) rankings at 7th, with 854 BE points and a world rider ranking of 14th.
Paul has become best known for his partnership with English thoroughbred Inonothing. After a string of consistent four-star results, they won Badminton Horse Trials in 2010.
Paul is married to Georgina (n ©e Mace) and now runs the Tapner Eventing Team from their base near Swindon. They have two children, Madison and Joshua.
