Auchinleck Horse Trials has rescheduled to a weekend in May following problems that brought the cancellation of the event three years in a row.
Organiser Aly Boswell told H&H in August that the horse trials would fold if they could not move from their British Eventing (BE) date of the last Saturday in July.
The removal of a silage crop in early July, which left the land compacted, meant the course often became waterlogged.
Next year’s trials will be held on 8-9 May.
BE regional director for Scotland and the north Frances Hay-Smith said: “Our insurance [provider] had concerns about the event running in July as it been had cancelled so many times previously.
“We hope it will be a great success on the new date, which slots in between Badminton and Chatsworth.”
Mrs Boswell added: “We hope the weather will be good on the new weekend.”
