Mandy Stibbe heads BE

  • Mandy Stibbe has been nominated as chairman-elect of British Eventing (BE) in place of retiring chairman Jane Holderness-Roddam.

BE board members unanimously elected Mandy, who will assume the chairman’s role after the BE annual general meeting at the end of October.

Under Mandy’s chairmanship of senior selectors, the British squad won back-to-back team and individual European Championships in 1999 and 2001 and team silver at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. She stood down from the role in January 2003 amid controversy over the changing role of selectors.

Jane Holderness-Roddam says: “I’m delighted that Mandy has accepted this job; the sport will be in safe hands.”
