An eventing safety forum takes place at Hartpury College, Glos, on 8 February, featuring a series of discussions and demonstrations that focus on producing safe and competitive eventing athletes.
The 2010 Hartpury College International Eventing Forum is aimed at event riders, trainers, coaches and supporters at all levels, and will feature demonstrations from world-class experts, including Yogi Breisner FBHS, Di Lampard, Shane Breen, Eric Smiley FBHS and Pammy Hutton.
“We have very good speakers this year and Hartpury is a wonderful venue, so we are expecting it to be a great success,” Jean Mitchell, a member of the organising committee, told H&H.
“In previous years it has attracted all sorts — officials, breeders and judges. It is also a refresher day for British Horse Society instructors and part of British Eventing’s accredited trainers development programme.”
The forum will demonstrate the similarities in training for the three Olympic disciplines in eventing, and will also include a lecture on racing that will feature national hunt jockeys demonstrating how to jump at speed.
The event, which will also include the latest information from the International Equestrian Federation and British Eventing Safety Committees, will run from 10am to 5pm, and there will be catering facilities and equestrian trade stands available.
