Husband and wife team, Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks finished first and second in the FEI World Cup Qualifier at Chatsworth this weekend. The British-based couple, who represent Australia, jumped faultless cross-country rounds but clocked up a few time penalties along the way.
Lucinda scored a better dressage mark than her husband – an impressive 45.7 pen and fewer cross-country time faults. But an unfortunate eight penalties in the show jumping phase relegated her to runners-up position. Britains Fiona Hobby finished in third position with Smart Approach. The pair have already been enjoying FEI success this season, having finished 12th in the World Cup Qualifier in Ballindisk in April.
Sarah Cohen and Ruth Edge also achieved top ten placings. Cohen and Hide and Seek II finished fifth with Ruth Edge and Marsh Mayfly in seventh position.
The next FEI World Cup Qualifier is being held at Strzegom, Poland from 22- 25 June and the World Cup finals will take place in Malmö, Sweden from 21-24 September.
