HSBC Rankings Series leader to wear armband at events

  • Eventing fans will find it easier to follow the HSBC Rankings Series for the rest of the season, thanks to a new development.

From now on, the rider topping the leader board will wear a special red and white armband when competing at events, until they are overtaken in the rankings.

Mary King currently leads the way, one point ahead of William Fox-Pitt.

Mary said: “I think this is a lovely way for fans to follow the rankings.

“I’m delighted to be wearing it for the first time and hope to be sporting it again this season.”

In a further boost to elite riders, there will be a $50,000 (£31k) bonus for the rider who is at the top of the rankings at the end of the season.
