Haribo candy horse modelled on Badminton Grassroots contender

  • Badminton Grassroots contender Lucinda Cawood has had a sweet surprise in the run up to the event — her horse Alfie is to appear in and on packets of Haribo.

Lucinda is seasonal products manager at the confectionary company and has introduced Fizzy Farm Animals, exclusive to Tesco, in time for Easter.

The candy horse character has been modelled on her grassroots partner Alfie.

“I’ve always wanted to put Alfie on a bag of sweets,” said Lucinda.

“I even sent our designers a photo of Alfie to base it on. It’s so exciting, I love the fact he’ll be there in people’s homes.”

Lucinda said the seven-year-old is a “marvellous” horse.

“He’s been doing so well in BE90 and BE100 and I’m so looking forward to going to Badminton,” she added.

And given recent events, Haribo assures H&H that its gelatine is 100% horse free.
