And Sophie How won individual gold, with Mary King’s daughter Emily King and Mr Hiho taking silver.

Individual bronze went to Irish rider Harold Megahey and Chuckelberry and the Irish team – Harold Megahey, Lucca Stubington and Kilminchy Condor, Tori Dixon and Shadow Light and Katie Moffatt and Pick And Mix won team silver.

They finished just three points adrift from the British team.

And the French team was third.

British junior squad chef d’equipe Ginnie Keen said: “It was so tight at the top going into the show jumping – things were getting extremely close and it really all came down to Sophie How at the last moment!

“It is a fantastic result for the team and also the riders individually, I am so proud of how they all pulled together as a squad.”
