British Eventing thanked for ‘pulling out the stops’ for Tom Gadsby’s family

  • Equestrian Sport New Zealand (ESNZ) has thanked British Eventing (BE) for the help and support given to the family of Tom Gadsby in the days after his death.

Tom, 26, was killed in a rotational fall at Somerford Park Horse Trials on 18 August.

His mother — who had been visiting Tom — was flying home to New Zealand when the accident happened. She travelled back to the UK with his father and sister to collect his body.

Jim Ellis, chief executive of ESNZ, said BE had gone to great lengths to help the family.

“They absolutely pulled out every single stop and made it so much easier for Tom’s parents and sister,” he said.
