  • Current British under 18 champions, Georgie Spence and Song For Gull will head the six-strong British squad for the Junior European Championships at Necarne Ireland (14 – 17 September). Georgie’s other two rides, Trenear and Running Brook II, have been named as reserve horses.

    Georgie will be joined by Laura Collett, winner of Tweseldown CCI** with Richard and Mary Hambro’s Fernhill Sox. Laura, a member of the 2005 Gold Medal winning Pony European Team also has Opposition Legacy as a direct reserve horse. Laurie Cooper and Conterm Bellair, Dani Cuomo and Ballin Willow, Charlotte Greenlees with James and Emily Llwellyn and Society Spice comprise the rest of the squad.

    Lydia Hannon, Laura Grace Johnson and Ben Hobday have been selected as reserves.

    The squad was selected based on the results of three-day events at Chepstow, Burgie, Avenches and Sansaw CIC two-star. They will go in to final concentration at Hyde Farm West from 4 – 6 September before leaving for Necarne on the 10 September.
