Bramham winner Foreign Exchange retires from eventing

  • Bramham 2004 winner Foreign Exchange has retired from eventing and is now enjoying a slower pace of life with his new owners Mandy and Jimmy Southern.

“Gulliver”, as he is know at home, suffered an injury at Badminton 2006 which signaled the end of his 447-point eventing career. The 14-year-old has now fully recovered and will be hunting with Mandy and competing in dressage with Jimmy.

Foreign Exchange was previously owned by Preetha Excel, who evented him to one-star level, before passing the ride on to Terry Boon in 2001. They went on to win Bramham three-star and finish third at Thirlestane Castle, as well as completing Burghley, during their successful time together.

Mandy said: “Gulliver is fit and healthy and all of us felt that he deserves an easier time of it now.”
