Blyth Tait makes his UK return in the novice at Larkhill

  • Blyth Tait made a modest return to British Eventing (BE) last weekend (9 April) with two novice rounds at Larkhill Horse Trials in Wiltshire.

Both rides, Aloha and Ringwood Sky Boy, posted competitive dressage marks — 31.4 for Aloha and 30 for Ringwood Sky Boy — but blotted their copybooks showjumping, with 8 and 20 penalties respectively.

This was the first time the individual Olympic gold medallist (Atlanta 1996) had competed in the UK following his 2004 retirement.

He is currently aiming for London 2012 with new horse Santos but is looking for more top-level rides to add to his string.
