Allerton Park Horse Trials will run an advanced class this year

  • A new advanced class has been announced for a north Yorkshire event.

Allerton Park Horse Trials will add the class to its autumn event (15-16 September).

Organiser Lady Mowbray said: “After last year’s event, we requested feedback from riders and received so much support and encouragement from competitors and British Eventing, that we decided it was the right time to take the step up to advanced.

“We feel that we have the right team in place to provide an advanced class that will be exciting to competitors and spectators alike.”

The Allerton team comprises course builder Dominic Lawrence and course designer Ian Stark.

Work has already started on the new course, which will be more than 3.25k long and include 33 fences.

Mr Stark is also improving the current BE100, novice and intermediate courses, including a remodelling of the island water complex.

The dressage arenas, collecting rings and parking areas will also be upgraded.
