What you didn’t know about… Cabral

  • Natasha Baker tells H&H about her chilled Paralympic double gold medal-winning partner.

    Fact file

    Stable name: JP

    Age: 11

    Height: 16.2hh

    Breed: Polish warmblood

    Sire: Bujak

    Discipline: para dressage

Owner: Christian Landolt, Phil & Lorraine Baker & Dorothy Alder

    Rider: Natasha Baker

Best result: double gold at the 2012 London Paralympic Games

    Five things you didn’t know…

1 JP was originally bought by Christian Landolt as an eventer, but wasn’t bold enough across country.

2 He loves his food and is always thinking of his tummy. He even eats bananas whole as he’s too impatient for Natasha to peel them.

3 He hates his ears being touched, especially if he needs fly spray applying.

4 His secret weapon is his Cyclo-ssage rug — Natasha always puts it on before she rides him.

5 In the stable he is named after Pope John Paul II, as he is from Poland as well.
