Paradressage rider Sophie Wells wins “Rider Award” at BETA dinner

  • Paralympic gold-medallist Sophie Wells won the “Rider Award” at the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) dinner and business awards, on 17 February.

The award — which is sponsored by equestrian PR agency Tim Smith Marketing — recognises riders who work closely with their sponsors, promoting products through advertising, marketing and PR.

Sophie is sponsored by Staffordshire-based saddlers Black Country Saddles, which nominated her for the award.

“I was absolutely delighted to find out that I had won,” said Sophie.

“Black Country Saddles is a great supporter — its saddles are the very best and help me compete at the highest level in paradressage.”

Mark Bryan of Black Country Saddles added: “Sophie is extremely proactive in taking every available opportunity to promote the [company] name. We are thrilled that she won the award.”
