Isabell Werth sets new world record score

  • Germany’s Isabell Werth broke the grand prix world record in Stuttgart this weekend on a score of 79.958%. Partnering the impressive Satchmo 78, Werth’s record beating score was more than 3% higher than that of nearest rival Nadine Capellman and Elvis VA.

Werth’s achievement marks the second time the Stuttgart CDI has been a venue where world records are broken. Last year it was Martin Schaudt who broke the world record in the grand prix special.

Meanwhile in the show jumping arena, Robert Smith (pictured) finished fourth in the FEI World Cup qualifier, riding Kalusha. Smith jumped a double clear round in a fiercely competitive jump-off where just over one second separated the top five placed riders.

Robert was awarded 13 World Cup points, pushing him into 11th place on the Western European League points standings. Germany took the top three placings, with Marcus Ehning (Gitania) taking pole position and earning a valuable 20 world cup points.
