Dressage fans set their alarms for before 6am this morning in the hopes of applying for the small number of Olympic dressage tickets available in the second round draw.
But in messages on the H&H facebook page many said they were unable to get onto the website because of the volume of applicants.
And when they did, received a message saying all the tickets had now gone.
Sharon Smith complained: “I hit submit at 6.01, but it said “Sorry” and then I kept getting so far and it was crashing.
“It finally went through at 6.30 and by 7am the site showed all tickets now unavailable. What an utter shambles!”
And Lizi Kettlewell said: “Had problems trying… then said unavailable.”
The ticket sale was for applicants who were not allocated any tickets during the first application phase.
It opened at 6am this morning and runs until 6pm on 3 July. Successful applicants will find out by 8 July.
A third chance to buy tickets, for applicants who were allocated some or all of their tickets during the first application phase, opens at 6am on 8 July and closes at 6pm on 17 July, but it is unlikely there will be any equestrian tickets included.
