British juniors and young riders aim for European dressage glory

  • British Dressage has announced the junior and young riders selected to represent their country at the junior and young rider European championships in Azeitao, Portugal (14-20 July 2008).

She will join Keri Bates (Donna Parrina), and Melissa BeerRebecca Drane on Half Moon Bardolino. Samantha Harrison, best of the Brits in last year’s team competition when riding Kwadraat, is the non-travelling reserve with Broomford Locarno.

Charlie Hutton stepped up from his junior team slot last year to be in the young riders team this time on Abira. He joins two members of last year’s 12th-placed young riders team, Amber de Savary with new team ride Diamond Fritz, Zoe Sleigh (Orvieto). Also in the team is Lara Griffith, who won the intermediaire music at the winter dressage championships in April. Natalie Allen is non-travelling reserve with Duke 77, a former gold medallist with the German team, as is Emily Cousins with Solo Bachelorette.
