  • British team are runners-up in an innovative competitive grand prix quadrille at the Maastricht CDI

The recent Maastricht CDI in Holland included an innovative competitive grand prixquadrille, which four British riders contested.

The squad of Lucy Farrer (Baszo), Wayne Channon (Kasmjir), Jo Turner (Edicordo) and Frances Rudge (Stubbing Court Licardo) finished second to the Dutch Gestion team, headed by Anky van Grunsven and Kir Royal, winners of the grand prix.

British-based Finnish international rider and trainer Kyra Kyrklund helped to choreograph the British routine, while Debra Channon put the music together.

“The atmosphere lifted Baszo and he wentreally well. We all surpassed ourselves in the quadrille and enjoyed the show. It was definitely worth going,” said Lucy, who also finished second to Anky in the leading rider awards league.

The quadrille was judged by six judges from three countries and was enjoyed by around 5,000 spectators.
