Anna Ross Davies, born on 30 July 1972, is a British dressage rider.
She began her career as a helper at a local riding school but by the time she was 20, Anna had completed her BHSAI at the London Equestrian Centre and was encouraged to take her intermediate exam.
She began training with Sue Payne FBHS, who suggested she take some lessons at the Talland School of Equitation.
Here she received training from Adam Kemp and entered her first affiliated dressage competition aged 23.
Anna continued to make rapid progress and in 2005, she took the runner-up slot in the intermediaire II National Championships and went on to win her first grand prix at national level in 2006 at Hickstead.
In 2007, Anna, who trained for five years with German Olympic Champion Ulla Salzgeber, represented Britain at the European Dressage Championships where was the highest placed British rider in 10th place. She received the British Equestrian Award for outstanding achievement the same year.
Anna won her first FEI World Cup qualifier in 2008 with an impressive 71% on Liebling II (pictured above). Since Leibling moved to Carl Hester, Anna has been focussing on producing young horses for future careers at grand prix.
When she is not competing, Anna, is in great demand as a trainer among both pure-dressage and event riders from her Altogether Equestrian base in Wiltshire.
