Steffen Peters, 48, will be hoping to improve on his fourth place individually at the 2008 Olympic Games with his long-standing ride Ravel. The partnership have collected two World Championship bronze medals, plus the Rolex/FEI World Cup title since their previous Olympic appearance.

Steffen is joined by his 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games team-mate, Tina Konyot, 50, riding Calecto V. This pair won the 2010 USEF national grand prix championship and finished runners-up behind Steffen in 2011 and 2012. Tina comes from a circus background, with her father a renowned horse trainer and her mother known as “Queen of the High Wire”.

Jan Ebeling, 53, rides Rafalca, who is part owned by Ann Romney (wife of Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney), along with Beth Meyers and Amy Ebeling. They have represented America three times at FEI World Cup finals.

Individual rider Adrienne Lyle, 27, will be contesting her first Olympics with Peggy Thomas’ Wizard. Adrienne is trained by American dressage icon Debbie McDonald.
