Kim Wilson
Freelance writer
Kim Wilson graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2004 with a master's degree in English language and literature. While she didn’t pursue a formal career in journalism, her passion for writing has always been evident, with contributions to various publications and content creation across multiple sectors. Ten years ago, she combined her love of horses with her experience working in the family jewellers to launch Pegasus, her own range of equestrian jewellery, which she continues to run successfully today.
Based in southwest Scotland, Kim runs a small showing team of ponies for her daughter, Charlotte. She has been fortunate to qualify ponies for both the Royal International and Horse of the Year Show annually, in both flat and working hunter classes. This year marks an exciting milestone as their six-year-old chestnut gelding, Cadlanvalley Santini, transitions into open show hunter pony classes following a highly successful novice season last year.
Kim’s yard is a hive of activity, also home to a variety of rescue animals including pigs, cats, and chickens, as well as a breeding herd of coloured Ryeland sheep. Completing the menagerie is Poppy, a miniature black-and-tan Jack Russell who most definitly rules the yard.
