Championship experience
Georgie made her senior squad debut at this year’s European Championships at Pratoni del Vivaro (13-16 September). She was on the gold medal-winning team at the young rider European Championships at Bialy Bor, Poland, in 2003 with Fachoudette.
Recent form
Georgie and Fachoudette built on their winning performance in last year’s under-25 championships at Bramham with 21st place at Burghley, the mare’s first four-star. This spring they won a CIC*** section at Burnham Market before earning their spot at the Europeans with third place at Luhmühlen.
Georgie and Fachoudette had an excellent final run before the European Championships at Highclere, finishing second in the advanced intermediate on their dressage score of 27.7.
European Championship performance 2007
Georgie did not have the happiest time on her senior squad debut. She was 17th after dressage on 45.4, but uncharacteristically Fachoudette picked up 40 jumping penalties across country, after a great start to her round when she went straight through the difficult target arrowheads at the slide fence. With one show jump down, the pair finished 28th.
Background
Georgie was born in the UAE when her parents were working in the Middle East and left school in 2002 to event full time. She is based at her parents’ home near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
