  • If you’re wondering how to follow all the action at the LeMieux National Dressage Championships this year, you’ve come to right place.

The National Dressage Championships are taking place on 12-15 September at Somerford Park in Cheshire, with the nation’s leading combinations across all levels set to take part.

There will be further action with the KBIS Young Horse Final with four- to seven-year-old classes, with judges Gareth Hughes and Spencer Wilton. The National Championships also hosts the Rothera Bray under-21 championship and the Equissage Pulse para gold final.

Gold medal winner Laura Tomlinson will also host a masterclass on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, when she will be share tips and advice on how to get the best out of your horse at home.

There will also be a parade from Britain’s medal winners from across the levels this year, from youth teams to those riders who competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Although there will be no full live-stream of the National Dressage Championships in 2024, H&C+ will be providing live coverage of the grand prix freestyle gold and intermediate 1 freestyle gold championships on 12 September between 1.40pm and 5pm.

Horse & Country provides its service to Germany, the UK, the USA, the Netherlands and Switzerland, so you will be able to tune in via Horse & Country in those destinations.

How to watch the National Dressage Championships live from outside your country or with additional security

If you have a valid subscription to Horse & Country, but you’re currently travelling outside your own country, then it’s likely that you will be unable to use it. This is because the service will know your location based on your IP address, and will automatically block your access.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) helps you get around this obstacle. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, such that the servers and services you’re accessing aren’t aware of what you’re doing. All the information passing back and forth is entirely encrypted.

If you’re outside of the UK, but want your usual coverage, or if you’d like to have the additional online security offered by a VPN connection, check out the NordVPN, where you can get 73% off, plus a 30-day money back guarantee, and follow the instructions below.

    How to use a VPN

Using a VPN is incredibly simple.

    1. Install the VPN of your choice. NordVPN is the one we recommend.

    2. Open up the VPN app and choose the location of the service you wish to access. For the National Dressage Championships, you may wish to choose London.

    3. Then head over to Horse & Country on your browser or device and enjoy the National Dressage Championships livestream.

We recommend VPN services in the context of legal recreational uses. For example:

    1. Accessing a service from another country (subject to the terms and conditions of that service)
    2. Protecting your online security and strengthening your online privacy when abroad

We do not support or condone the illegal or malicious use of VPN services. Consuming pirated content that is paid-for is neither endorsed nor approved by Future Publishing.

If you want to watch the rest of the action as it happens, you will need to attend the event in person. All tickets must be ordered online and will be issued as e-tickets (you can pay for these on the gate, but they must be booked beforehand).

However, if you’re unable to attend the championships in person, you can still follow the action. The immensely popular Radio Nationals is back for 2024, with Kim Ratcliffe and John Bowen bringing you all the dressage commentary and banter you could need throughout the four days of the championships. You can listen to Radio Nationals via the British Dressage website on a mobile phone, and Kim and John will be on air from the main LeMieux arena early on Thursday 14 September.

In addition, H&H is sending reporters to the 2024 show, and will be keeping you fully up to date, with stories and features published on our website throughout every day, bringing you all the action as it happens. You can also read full reports and analysis of the championships in the 19 September issue of the magazine.
