UK equestrian sponsorship round-up

  • Ekkia

The French equestrian wholesaler and manufacturer is to sponsor the fashion show at the British Equestrian Trade Association’s annual trade fair in 2017 (BETA International).

This will be the fourth consecutive year it has sponsored the showcase, which will be named Equi-Thème in 2017 after the company’s flagship brand.

“Ekkia’s stylish and sophisticated ranges are the perfect match for this sponsorship and we are extremely pleased that the company has agreed to continue its support for another year,” said BETA International organiser Claire Thomas.

BETA International runs from 22-24 January.

    Wandlite

The British designed and manufactured LED tube light company has signed a deal to sponsor a pair of Weathergrove Farm’s Arab racehorses for the next two years.

The yard is now installing the lights in all stables as well as outbuildings.

“We’re extremely proud to be sponsoring [racehorses] Moogali and Kayote and to have the Weathergrove team as our advocates,” said Wandlite founder and designer Jonathan Evitt.

“We feel strongly that the flexible options for powering our LED system coupled with its tough and durable design make it the perfect solution for all equestrian lighting needs – whether that’s a stable, a field shelter or a horsebox.

“It can even be hosed down if it gets muddy or dirty so it’s ideal for a life lived mostly outdoors.”

    SEIB Insurance Brokers

Three equine charities are set to benefit from the SEIB Burghley sponsored ride taking place on the Sunday (4 September) of the CCI4*.

The sponsorship from SEIB means that 100% of the money raised by participants goes to charity. There will also be prizes presented to the riders who gain the most sponsorship.

Money raised will go to World Horse Welfare, Ebony Horse Club and the British Horse Society.

“We are delighted to be donating money to such deserving equine charities,” said ride organiser Ian Scott. “Last year’s ride raised over £20,000, that meant that since the ride started in 1996 we have raised a cumulative total of over £200,000.”

    Dengie Horse Feeds

The feed manufacturer will continue its support for the Pony Club’s winter showjumping and dressage championships for 2016/17.

Dengie has supported the event since it began in 1995.

“We are thrilled to be continuing to work with Dengie on the development of the Pony Club showjumping and dressage winter championship competitions,” said the Pony Club’s director of disciplines James Loffet.

“Our members benefit enormously from the wide knowledge that Dengie brings; the partnership between the Pony Club and Dengie is well established, and works well as we share so many of the same values and ideals.”

    Equine Careers

Recruitment specialist Equine Careers will sponsor the BETA Awards’ sales representative of the year category for a sixth consecutive year.

The award is open to both employed and self-employed sales representatives and agents, with the winner judged to be exceptional in their approach to customer service.

“The [awards] play an important role in helping to promote the services we offer in advertising and recruiting throughout the industry, and cement how serious we are about our place and reputation within it,” said Equine Careers’ Emma Dyer.

“I am certain that the Equine Careers sales representative award will recognise yet more worthy talent in 2017.”

    Land Rover

The new Pony Club regional championships are being sponsored by Land Rover.

The series, which is running in August and September for the first time this year, is aimed at grassroots riders.

In 2016, the championships are made up of showjumping and dressage competititon, with eventing being added next year.

Scott Dicken, marketing director of Land Rover UK, said the company is “very proud” to support the initiative and champion young riders throughout the UK.

    Haygain

Jessica Mendoza has been appointed showjumping ambassador for the hay steaming company.

The 20-year-old showjumper and her team have been using Haygain for years and she is the first of several new ambassadors for the company to be announced.

Déborrah Flament, Haygain’s director of marketing said: “We are proud to be supporting the Team Mendoza stable squad of horses by helping to keep them fit and healthy and we are delighted that Team Mendoza has made Haygain steamers an integral part of their feeding regime. “
