Emile Faurie, one of Britain’s leading dressage riders, is offering riders in Lincolnshire a rare insight into his training techniques at a two-day clinic at Sheepgate Equestrian next week.
Each training session will feature two riders, and last for approximately 45 minutes, with riders being paired up according to their experience.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to watch and learn from the Olympian himself in a lecture/demonstration featuring Emile’s own horses in training.
Audience members will also be invited to participate in an informal Q&A session, where Emile will talk of his Olympic experiences in Sydney and Barcelona, and the rollercoaster ride that is competing at the top.
The two-day masterclass is the brainchild of Sarah Payne, the resident trainer/ rider at Sheepgate Equestrian. She says: “This is an opportunity not to be missed.
“Whether you’re a dressage rider, show jumper or eventer, a lesson with Emile will open new doors in terms of training techniques.
“His approach to training horse and rider is very user-friendly, and whether you ride at novice or advanced level, everyone is welcome to apply for a place on the course – but don’t delay as there are only limited places.”
Emile Faurie has twice been a member of Britain’s Olympic dressage team, both in Barcelona (1992) and Sydney (2000). He is a reserve for Athens this year with Rascher Hopes, although he has a long line of equine talent in training, and has an impressive list of Grand Prix successes, as well as both individual and team European Championship medals. He has represented Britain three times at the World Equestrian Games.
