We are here!
We did a lot of umming and ahhing about whether to leave on Monday or Tuesday given my dressage isn’t until Wednesday. We decided Monday was the better option to give Sara (Donner Sara B) time to settle in.
We left home at 9.30am. Google said it should take 2.5hrs by car so we allowed four hours to include a coffee stop. This enabled us to arrive at Badminton in time for Great British eventing chef d’equipe Yogi Breisner’s cross-country course walk of the B90 championship track.
We hit a little bit if traffic on the way but we were still just about running on time until we were about one mile away from the event. We then found ourselves the wrong side of an eight foot nine inch bridge in an 11 foot tall lorry!
We stopped to ask for directions. The detour to get the right side of the bridge would take 20 minutes. Once we had been pointed in the right direction the couple who had told us where to go then offered to take me to the start box for the course walk.

Sara is now settled into her stable with her feed and haylage, however she would rather eat the grass floor underneath her bedding! I am yet to put up the tent as the rain has hit, but we have opened some bubbles just in celebration of getting here.
Love Carrie (and Sara)
