Our reviewer loved these value for money breeches
The Derby House Elite Larkhill breeches are part of the Elite family of luxury breeches. These full seat breeches have a sophisticated look, are smart and comfortable enough for competition use and give a good fit.
I tested a pair of 28” navy breeches and find that they are great quality; they look a lot more expensive than they are. I especially like the feel of the material (crafted from a breathable cotton-rich woven fabric with a four-way stretch) and the full seat, as it gives me great grip in the saddle. I also find that hay and straw does not tend to stick to the material and it has not snagged. This is great for me as I am allergic to dust!
The breeches also feature a lycra elasticated ankle panel that reduces the bulk under my boot, allowing them to fit comfortably. While riding I was caught in an unexpected downpour and found that the breeches were quick drying and performed surprisingly well in the rain – they didn’t become heavy at all.
I am rather fussy when it comes to how breeches fit, however I found these to be a great fit and true to size (I am a UK size 10-12). Other brands have come up small and I’ve even had to go up a size, so it is nice to get an accurate fit. The only thing that I am not so keen on is the classic-style waistband, as I find a higher waistband to be more flattering.
Overall they are a great quality and good value pair of breeches. I am tempted to buy another pair in white to wear at competitions.
Verdict
A quality pair of breeches at a bargain price
