This Christmas, the equine charity World Horse Welfare brings us 12 horses and ponies that are looking for new homes
1. World Horse Welfare Bogey Man
Eight year-old, 14hh Bogey Man came into World Horse Welfare’s Norfolk Rescue and Rehoming Centre in June 2015 after he was found severely underweight and with an untreated injury on his jaw which had become infected. He’s now made a full recovery and is a very kind and loving horse looking for a home as a companion.

2. World Horse Welfare Danoe Diamond Geezer
Three year-old, 11.3hh Diamond came into World Horse Welfare’s Somerset Rescue and Rehoming Centre in April 2015 as part of a large group of horses from the Carmarthenshire area of Wales. He has responded well to handling and is now a confident boy looking for a home as a companion to continue his groundwork. He could do well at horse agility in the future.

3. World Horse Welfare Drifter
Drifter is a very sweet five year-old cob mare standing at 12.3hh who was found with a group of other horses emaciated and forced to live in a 4ft deep quagmire. She is a sensitive girl but learns quickly and will always try her hardest. She’s looking for an experienced home where she can continue her education and become a lovely riding pony.

4. World Horse Welfare All on Black (Obi)
Six year-old former racehorse Obi is part of World Horse Welfare’s pilot scheme with Retraining of Racehorses (RoR). Standing at 16.2hh he is currently featured as a ‘Horse in Progress’ and should be joining the rehoming scheme in 2016.

5. World Horse Welfare Talgoed Catkin (Blossom)
Eleven-year-old Blossom is a very intelligent pony who sadly has not had the best start in life so it takes some time to build her trust and confidence, but once she has bonded she will be your best friend. She is 12hh and is looking for a home as a companion to another horse or pony.

6. World Horse Welfare Windscott Quip
Quip is a stunning four year-old Arab cross mare who is currently undergoing rehabilitation at World Horse Welfare’s Somerset Rescue and Rehoming Centre. She has masses of potential and the team are hopeful she will make a lovely ridden pony in the future. She is featured as one of World Horse Welfare’s ‘Horses in Progress’ and should join the rehoming scheme in 2016.

7. Fizz
Six year-old Fizz came into World Horse Welfare’s Lancashire Rescue and Rehoming Centre with a group of horses all suffering from worm infestations and dehydration. Standing at 12.1hh she is looking for a home as a hack as due to her conformation she is unable to withstand ridden work in a school. She loves hacking out and would be perfect for someone who enjoys pleasure rides and exploring the countryside.

8. World Horse Welfare Ariel
Nine year-old, 13.1hh Ariel came into World Horse Welfare’s Norfolk Rescue and Rehoming Centre with a group of three other horses, who were all emaciated. She is looking for a home as a pleasure competition pony with an experienced, calm rider who can continue her education as she is still green despite her age. In the right home, she will blossom and prove to be a very genuine, fun pony.

9. World Horse Welfare Jack
Eleven-year-old Jack is a very genuine little pony with a great personality who is looking for a home initially as a companion, but he does have the potential to be ridden with the right owner. Standing at 10.3hh, he has been a lovely lead-rein pony in the past but has been out of work for some time so would need an experienced owner to start his training from scratch again.

10. World Horse Welfare Nancy
Eight year-old Nancy is a calm and gentle pony looking for a home with someone who can continue her driving education. She has been long-reined next to a busy road with no problems and driven in her cart around World Horse Welfare’s Lancashire Rescue and Rehoming Centre. She is a very smart pony standing at 13.2hh.

11. World Horse Welfare Rolo
One year-old Rolo came into our Norfolk Rescue and Rehoming Centre as a foal with her mother who was sadly so ill she had to be put to sleep. Currently standing at 11.1hh, she can be a little timid, but has the potential to make a lovely ridden pony once she is old enough.

12. World Horse Welfare Nellie
Three year-old 12hh Nellie is a very sweet girl looking for a home as a companion. World Horse Welfare recently told Nellie’s story through its Christmas fundraising appeal as she was found with another pony, Napoleon, emaciated and abandoned on a road late at night. She is good to handle and is looking for a rehomer who can help build her confidence.
