The 2015 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) will take in new events in Miami, USA, and Rome, Italy.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual showjumping tour for the leading riders in the world, which is set to kick off in Miami Beach on 2-4 April.
This is the first time that USA has hosted a LGCT show and is timed to coincide with the end of the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida at the end of March.
Towards the end of the season, LGCT riders will also head to another new venue for the 13th leg in Rome in September. With a return visit to Shanghai, China, and the annual final in Doha, Qatar, in November, the championship now spans four continents.
“2015 is set to be a landmark year for our series as we expand to the spectacular destinations of Miami Beach and Rome bringing a new continent and a new capital city into our calendar,” said Jan Tops, founder and president of the LCT.
“I am proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary in an environment of continued growth for show jumping worldwide as our events become a fantastic sporting and social fixture around the world.”
The 15-leg Longines Global Champions Tour continues to visit cities such as Paris, Shanghai and London and offers over €10million in prize money across the season, with a €1million bonus going to the top 18 riders in the overall championship.
Great Britain’s Scott Brash will be bidding to complete the hat-trick after claiming the overall title in 2013 and 2014.
