WEG dressage individual: Carl Hester talks to H&H [VIDEO]

  • Horse & Hound dressage editor Alice Collins caught up with a delighted Carl Hester after his ride in Wednesday’s grand prix special individual competition at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Carl scored 75.532% riding his inexperienced grand prix horse Nip Tuck, which put them in 12th place and qualified the pair for the freestyle competition on Friday.

Carl admits he was amazed by how well Nip Tuck coped with the atmosphere in the arena, as he can be quite “silly” about his surroundings. He also told us he didn’t expect to qualify for the freestyle, so will be using some music that was designed for his London 2012 ride Uthopia in the kür. After being so impressive in Normandy, could Nip Tuck be Carl’s ride for Rio 2016? Watch the video to find out…
