British Eventing (BE) will run a new two-phase arena eventing series in 2015, with classes at BE90 and BE100.
The series aims to provide more opportunities for BE members, as well as attract new ones, and there will be two finals — at Blair and Blenheim.
The competitions will be open to members and non-members of BE and will take place throughout the year, including during the winter. The qualifiers will be held across the country, some at affiliated events and some where similar competitions are already being run.
The top three in the equivalent level classes at the Baileys jumping and style finals will qualify for these championships.
“This is a very exciting development for BE,” said Chris Hunnable, chair of the BE Sport Committee.
“There will be two finals, held at the Blair Castle and the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, so that riders who qualify have the opportunity to compete in a final without having to travel the length of the country.
“For those contesting the Northern Championships next summer, they will experience the added bonus of being a part of the European Championships Event.”
