Frankie Pullar took the outstanding performance award, Ben Godfrey was named most improved, Connor Brace won the best racing knowledge award and 11-year-old Lewis MacDonald took the best turned out prize for his pony Mini Tango.
The children spent a week at racing school in Newmarket and the camp included training on the equine simulators, riding out on the school’s round gallop and straight gallop, race analysis, fitness and fall training plus tips on how to turn out a pony for the races.
The children were also taken on trips round trainer Jeremy Noseda’s yard and to Newmarket’s Rowley Mile racecourse, as well as mounted games with jockeys Will Kennedy and Trevor Whelan as team captains.
Clare Higgins, operations manager of the BRS said: “We are always extremely grateful to the jockeys who give up their time to come and make the Pony Racing Camp extra special. The youngsters work hard during their week with us and it’s a great reward for them to have some fun with, and learn from, the jockeys”.
