British showjumpers remain the top in the world at the start of 2014.
Scott Brash has retained his number 1 position, while Ben Maher has stayed put in 2nd.
The Longines FEI World Rankings for January were revealed today (Tuesday 7 January) and confirm the British pair as the top 2, in a good start to the new year.
Last month (2 December) 28-year-old Scott shot to the top of the rankings, knocking fellow Brit Ben off the number 1 spot. In September Ben became the first Brit in 2 decades to secure the top ranking.
The achievement follows a successful 2013 for Scott in which he was on the gold-medal-winning team at the Europeans as well as taking the Global Champions Tour final with Hello Sanctos. The pair also finished 2nd in the Rolex Grand Prix in Geneva in December.
German rider Ludger Beerbaum is in 3rd while the US’s Beezie Madden is 4th and Olympic champion Steve Guerdat is 5th.
